BETSY – WAS A FIREWORK
Reflections while observing fireworks with Betsy July 4, 2013 in Lincoln City
Each firework display is interesting and exciting – and there are many different and unique varieties
Some dazzle with brightness and color,
Others surprise or impress with percussion.
Some intrigue with choreography or geometry,
Others amaze us – how do they do that?
Like our lives and those of our contemporaries, explosions occur in rapid succession, each lasting but a moment before fading and being replaced by the next one. Each is interesting but occasionally a display occurs that makes us say “Wow, that was very special”!
Betsy was like that special display – she had dazzle and surprise, sometimes even intrigue. Certainly she amazed us with what she could do. But more than anything, she was special. From the displays that we have all experienced, she was one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences – with whose memory I will be forever filled.
